Bank statement import
Import your bank statements without a bank login
Download a statement from your online banking and drop it into WalletCalm: CSV, OFX/QFX, camt.053 and MT940 are understood, and so are the CSV layouts of popular banks. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Sample data
Your bank's format, recognised
Exports from Revolut, N26, Wise, PayPal, Monzo, ING, DKB, Sparkasse, Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank are recognised by their header row. Any other CSV is matched column by column once, and the mapping is saved, encrypted, for next time.
- CSV, OFX/QFX, camt.053 (ISO 20022) and MT940
- UTF-8, Windows-1252 and Windows-1251 files
- Local date and number formats such as 31.12.2026 and 1.234,56
- Saved mappings recognised next time
No duplicates, nothing silently dropped
Statements carry the bank's own entry ids, so importing an overlapping statement adds nothing twice. CSV rows are compared with what you already have, rows that repeat within one file are pointed out, and every row is checked before import.
- Duplicates found by bank id and by content
- Repeated rows flagged before import
- A preview of every row
- Malformed rows are never imported silently
Categorised on the way in
Your rules run on imported transactions, so groceries, rent and salary land in the right category straight away. If a bank changes its layout, WalletCalm notices before importing and guesses the columns instead, with a warning.
- Rules applied to every import
- A self-check before every import
- Excel? Save it as CSV first
- Export everything as CSV at any time
How it works
Bank statement import
- 01
Download a statement
Export CSV, camt.053, MT940 or OFX from your online banking.
- 02
Drop the file into WalletCalm
The format and bank are recognised; you pick the account once.
- 03
Check the preview and import
Duplicates and odd rows are marked before anything is saved.
Private by design
The file is read and converted in your browser. Only the encrypted transactions reach WalletCalm's servers; the statement itself never leaves your device.
Questions & answers
Which file formats can I import?
CSV, OFX and QFX, camt.053 (the ISO 20022 XML statement many European banks offer) and MT940. Excel files need to be saved as CSV first.
Which banks are supported?
Any bank that exports one of these formats. CSV exports of Revolut, N26, Wise, PayPal, Monzo, ING, DKB, Sparkasse, Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank are recognised automatically; for other banks you match the columns once and WalletCalm remembers them.
Why no automatic bank connection?
A bank connection means handing your bank login, or an access token, to a third party. Importing a file keeps your bank credentials entirely out of WalletCalm, and it works with banks that have no connection at all.
What if I import the same statement twice?
Nothing is added twice. Statement entries carry the bank's ids and CSV rows are checked against your existing transactions, so overlapping periods are safe to import.
Is the import free?
Yes. Import and CSV export are part of the free plan.
